About this Session

The past year has seen a flurry of policy activity that impacts libraries, library workers, and library patrons. From Congress to school boards, library advocates have demonstrated to decision makers how library workers are vital partners in building strong communities. The need for advocacy is ongoing. This session will explore key policy issues facing libraries, share an update on the work of ALA’s Public Policy and Advocacy team, and discuss how library workers can advocate individually and within their networks to influence issues within their communities.
