How Peer Mentoring Can Benefit Emerging Librarians of Color
A Session by Taylor Brooks and Michelle Lee
About this Session
As the racial and ethnic demographics of the United States continue to change, it is increasingly imperative that librarians address the issue of diversity in the profession. One of the ways the lack of racial/ethnic diversity in the library and information science profession is being approached is through the creation of mentorship opportunities for librarians of color. In this presentation, we will discuss how peer mentorship has been insightful and motivational to people of color and how it fosters the growth of diverse and supportive communities within the field.
