Historical Connections - Andrew Carnegie Library at Livingstone College Building Community Bonds and Preserving our History
A Session by Laura Johnson (Director of Library Services, Livingstone College)
About this Session
The Andrew Carnegie Library at Livingstone College has been a resource for students, civil rights gatherings and the historical Salisbury district while earning a listing on the National Register of Historic Places. Renovation of the library through a grant has led to re-establishing itself as a major hub in the community through building new relationships and programs. This presentation will highlight the steps taken, the new relationships, necessary professional development and new programs which will lead to the library becoming a repository for North Carolina History.
