Digital Transformations in Libraries at Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCU)
A Session by Vicki Coleman and Dr. Tasha Lucas-Youmans
About this Session
It is well documented that a digital divide exists in this country. Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) have worked to bridge this gap by providing resources to students, faculty, staff, and their communities using various learning and information technologies. In this session, Deans/Directors of Libraries will discuss how HBCU Libraries are supporting research, scholarship, teaching and learning using 21st-century technology. Grambling State University (New Digital Library & Commons), Kentucky State University (E-Learning), North Carolina A&T (E-Publishing), and Southern University (Digital Repository & Innovation Center) will share how their libraries are using technology to provide access and break barriers.
