Community & Collaboration: Outreach to Vulnerable Campus Populations

A Session by DeLoice Holliday , Amy Minix and Willa Tavernier

About this Session

As libraries and campuses continue to emphasize outreach and diversity, librarians are often challenged to actively engage with underserved populations, and provide information on resources available in the libraries, on campus, and in the wider community. Although there is no perfect formula for reaching such vulnerable groups, experience in planning and delivering outreach sessions provides learning opportunities - both from successes and failures. This presentation will document the process, progress, lessons and challenges in collaborating across libraries and diverse campus institutes, to deliver outreach and instruction focusing on issues of critical importance to vulnerable groups on campus.
