About this Session
The most experienced librarians have a difficult time responding to questions on mental health. Mental illnesses are among the most common health conditions in the United States. 1 out of 5 patrons that enter the library experienced mental health issues. Caring for the mind is design to inform participants how to provide mental health information at their library. Participants will learn difficult techniques to interact with emotional patrons. This class will cover the National Library of Medicine resources like MedlinePlus as well as other freely available authoritative resources.
