Black Unbound: African American Interest Programs in Outdoor Spaces
A Session by Kalela Williams (Black History Maven)
About this Session
From city stoops to rural fields, the outdoor landscape has been a backdrop to Black history. But just as outdoor activity interest was fading as technology pushed us indoors, the pandemic proved that outdoor programming is ever-relevant. This session will empower participants to reclaim spaces such as parks, trails, and historic neighborhoods as communal gathering places. Participants will learn useable techniques and exciting options, so that they are energized and informed in creating compelling outdoor African American interest programs.
