About this Session

Join librarians from the Black Caucus of the American Library Association (BCALA) and the ALA Graphic Novels Comics Round Table (GNCRT) as they present and discuss several comic reading lists that highlight the spectrum of Black experiences and infinite possibilities. Librarians will discuss why comics matter, how to include these lists in programmings and curriculums, and the creation of this collaboration. It is our hope that these lists will plant a seed that will continue to grow and serve as an essential resource for educators, library workers, parents, and readers of all ages. We cannot silently stand by as Black lives continue to be senselessly taken. Education must lead to action.
