Academic Support and Collaboration: Leveraging Library Resources to Help Underrepresented Populations

A Session by Cheryl Holland and Clara P. McLeod

About this Session

In response to the increased numbers of socioeconomically diverse students on our campus, administrators are trying to provide the resources and services needed for these students to succeed. This session will discuss an innovative approach developed by librarians with campus partners to leverage the libraries collections as a major resource for students struggling with the high costs of textbooks and course materials for classes. Our campus partners contributed to the marketing and promotion of the Libraries initiative, Be Textbook Savvy, which was created to encourage students to be strategic when obtaining the textbooks and course materials needed for their classes.
