About this speaker

Veronica Britto is an Administrative Librarian with the Free Library of Philadelphia. She leads library branches in West and Southwest Philadelphia. Veronica has almost 20 years of experience in public libraries. She holds a Bachelor of Humanities in Communications from Pennsylvania State University, and a Master in Library Science from Clarion University (PA).


Veronica cares about literacy, juvenile justice, and economic development. Veronica spends time volunteering with young people, and has led service-learning teams to Detroit, New Orleans, Atlanta, and Costa Rica. She currently sits on the Board of Directors for Bear Creek Camp, a 3,000-acre environmental education center and summer camp nestled in Pennsylvania's beautiful Pocono Mountains.


Veronica is a professional member of the Black Caucus of the American Library Association (BCALA) and is past-President of the PA African American Library Association (PAALA). She enjoys genealogy, traveling, film, drawing, bowling, and spending quality time with her nieces and nephews.
