Vernice Riddick Faison is Head Music Librarian at North Carolina Central University and manages the Music Library's daily operations, including reference, information literacy, cataloging, marketing, and outreach. She was instrumental in establishing the James E. Shepard Memorial Library’s Marketing Committee and has served as Chair since its inception in 2007. Faison was a member of NCCU’s School of Library and Information Sciences (SLIS) first digital library class and helped produce (SLIS) library’s first digital collection and, in turn, the first digital collection on NCCU’s campus. In addition, she also served as Project Coordinator and spearheaded James E. Shepard Memorial Library’s first digital collection called the NCCU Digital Collection and created Shepard Library’s latest digital anthology entitled NCCU: The Early Years. Furthermore, Faison, along with several colleagues, authored a chapter in several books.
