Valerie Hawkins has been working in libraries for 25 years, including 19 years spent in the Library of the American Library Association. She displays news and information online on libraries and library workers using The Tweeted Times, Medium, Wakelet, and Netvibes. She is a member of the Illinois Library Association and of the Black Caucus of the American Library Association. She holds a B.A. from Roosevelt University in Interdisciplinary Studies (film, writing, media, getting in good trouble).
