About this speaker
Laura is a native of Charlotte, North Carolina. She completed a BA in French (1976) and a Masters in Library Science (1977) at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. She earned an advanced degree in Educational Media and completed Principal certification at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. Laura is also a graduate of the BRIDGES Academic Leadership for Women at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, Class of 2010.
Throughout her career, she has been a Public Librarian, a Media Specialist, coordinated special programs and taught Social Studies. Laura retired from the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools as a Vice Principal at West Charlotte High School. She was the Reference Librarian at Livingstone College in 2010 and now serves as the Director of Library Services.
