About this speaker

Deimosa Webber-Bey is a lifelong quilter and a member of the Empire Quilters Guild in NYC. She has done extensive primary source, digital humanities research on quilting during the era of slavery, published online in the Journal of Interactive Teaching & Pedagogy and on her Runaway Quilt Project website. Her quilt of the same name traveled with the International Quilt Festival 2014-2015. In order to support her quilting + reading habits, she has a full-time job as a librarian at Scholastic Inc.
