About this speaker
April Lynn James is an entrepreneur, author, soprano and groundbreaking researcher in the area of Women in Music. Her exhibitions, In Her Own Hand: Operas Composed by Women 1625-1913 (Harvard Music Library) and Women Composing for Marian Anderson (Penn Libraries), were enthusiastically received, and she is in demand as a speaker on this subject. She holds a PhD in Music from Harvard University, a BA, magna cum laude, in Music from Queens College, CUNY and an MSLIS from Drexel University. Her latest venture is April plus Madison, a Wonderland-inspired expressive arts and holistic wellness enterprise fueled, in part, by the whimsical rhymes composed and declaimed by her guardian angel, Madison Hatta, Sonneteer.
